A dining experience that slows you down – in the best possible way
In the ever-moving pulse of Bengaluru, Barnhouse is a quiet invitation to pause.
Set within Essensai067, a reimagined lifestyle space in Whitefield, Barnhouse offers more than just a menu – it offers a moment to pause, a ‘me moment’! A resort-inspired, vegetarian escape where time stretches gently, and every bite is savoured.
“We live in a city that rarely slows down. And, Barnhouse was born from the idea that food is more than just fuel. It is a chance to pause, to restore, and to reconnect,” says Haresh M. Mirpuri, founder and creative director, Essensai067.
Where flavor meets intention
Once you step into Barnhouse, you will notice the difference immediately. It is not just the food; it is how you feel while eating it. Each dish is part of a larger story: one that balances global flavours, local produce, and a deep respect for what nourishment really means.
At Barnhouse, every ingredient is sourced, stored, and served with purpose. The restaurant also has a zero-waste philosophy. Nothing is carried over to the next day, and every element finds a place on the plate—carefully balanced for taste, nutrition, and sustainability.
“Seventy percent of health comes from food,” says Mr. Haresh, adding, “Barnhouse is our way of helping people rediscover what good food can feel like - not just taste like.”
Global cuisine
Barnhouse follows the rhythm of nature. Its menu is designed around what’s fresh and available in each season—creating dishes that are not just flavourful but naturally nutrient-rich.
From the delicate Butternut Squash Massaman Bao to the robust Banana Blossom Galouti or the indulgent Pearl Barley Saffron Risotto, the menu offers global comfort food with a refreshing, plant-based twist.
Built for everyone, at Barnhouse, dining is as much about how you eat as what you eat.
Here, you are encouraged to slow down. To unplug and connect with the food, the company, and themselves. The space is built for ease - open, inclusive, pet-friendly, and welcoming to children and elders alike.
From hands-on pizza-making activities for kids to cozy corners for solo diners, it’s a place where everyone feels at home.
The setting itself plays a quiet role in the experience.
Designed by celebrated sustainable architect Anupama Kundoo, Barnhouse is made with Pondicherry-sourced natural rock, Red Agra sandstone, and Achikal bricks, one of the world’s oldest forms of handmade brickwork. The interiors are light-filled, open, and airy, and kept cool without air conditioning, thanks to smart passive design.
A way of living
While Barnhouse is proud of its farm-to-fork philosophy and thoughtful ingredient sourcing, what sets it apart is its spirit. It’s not about labels or trends. It’s about offering a place where nourishment becomes a lifestyle, not a checklist.
Barnhouse doesn’t just feed your appetite. It nurtures your need for calm, connection, and conscious comfort. Whether you’re dropping in for a quiet lunch, celebrating something special, or just craving space to exhale, this is your place.
“We call it Barnhouse, because the name itself makes you slow down. That’s what we all need—just a little more me-time,” adds Haresh.
So, wait no more. Reserve your table. Reconnect with what matters. And, slow down - in the best way.
